COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 13, 1993 <br />Exclusions. The amendment has been included in the revised <br />ordinance and reads as follows: "City will maintain City <br />properties the same as the norm for the area or neighborhood it <br />is located". <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adopt the second reading of <br />Ordinance No. 93 - 09 as revised. Council Member Neal seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Ordinance No. 93 - 09 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Mr. Hawkins did not have a report. <br />CONSIDERATION OF SETTING PUBLIC HEARING DATES AND TIME FOR THE <br />INITIAL AND CONTINUATION OF TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARINGS <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that the City must set an initial and a <br />continuation Truth in Taxation hearing date and these dates <br />cannot conflict with the school districts, Anoka County or <br />special district hearing dates. He noted that the final property <br />tax levy and the final 1994 Budget must be adopted subsequent to <br />the date of the initial hearing or continuation hearing. If a <br />continuation hearing date is not needed for this purpose, this <br />date and time should be used for the purpose of the "subsequent" <br />hearing to adopt the final 1994 levy and budget. Mr. Schumacher <br />suggested that the initial hearing date be set for December 1, <br />1993, 6:30 P.M. and the continuation hearing date for December 8, <br />1993, 6:30 P.M. <br />Council Member Kuether noted that she did have a conflict with <br />the December 1, 1993 date but would change her schedule. <br />Council Member Bergeson noted that this date is the normal City <br />Council work session date. Mr. Schumacher explained that he <br />would make a point to be completed with the work session by 6:30 <br />P.M. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to adopt December 1, 1993, 6:30 P.M. <br />as the initial hearing date and December 8, 1993, 6:30 P.M. as <br />the continuation date. Council Member Bergeson seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 74 - 93 ADOPTING THE PROPOSED <br />1994 OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that the Truth in Taxation law requires <br />the City to adopt a proposed 1994 operating budget on or before <br />September 15th of each year.
