64 <br />Page -6- <br />Police Department <br />* 1993 was a challenging year for this department with the departure of <br />Chief Campbell <br />* The reality that Lino Lakes is "coming of age" means that we will be facing <br />problems and situations we have not had to deal with before. Especially <br />true of this department. <br />* Hired a new Chief - Dave Pecchia <br />* Dave is preparing the department for the future - brings new ideas and <br />experience <br />* Will be implementing "community based policing" involving neighborhoods, <br />assigning officers to specific areas in the community <br />In 1994 we will be hiring two additional officers <br />Fire <br />* Two new rescue units were put in place - one in Station 1 (Circle Pines, and <br />the second in Station 2 (Lino Lakes) <br />* Six members of the department upgraded their medical training to the EMT <br />(Emergency Medical Technicians) level <br />* Conducted apx. 200 Life Safety inspections of businesses <br />Thank You <br />-Council Members <br />Linda Elliott <br />Sally Kuether <br />John Bergeson <br />Andy Neal <br />
