160
COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 11, 1994
CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTIONS NO. 94 - 24, NO. 94 - 25 AND NO.
94 - 26 ABATING CERTAIN LEVIED ASSESSMENTS, MARILYN ANDERSON
Assessments were certified on three (3) lots or parcels of
property for 1994 after the assessments were already prepaid.
The prepayments were not properly routed to the City Clerk
resulting in this error. Normally such errors would not be a
problem because the Finance Department would balance their
accounts and let the City Clerk know if any payment had not been
routed properly. Balancing the accounts would occur in time for
the City Clerk to notify Anoka County of the error. Because of
the change in job descriptions and the delay in balancing
accounts due to the change in software, the error was not noted
until April 1, 1994. Since the time period for Anoka County
staff correction is past, an abatement must be completed for each
lot or parcel. The first step of the abatement process is for
the City Council to pass resolutions abating each of the three
(3) assessments.
Council Member Elliott moved to adopt Resolution No. 94 - 24
Abating the 1994 Installment and All Future Installments for
Special Assessment Fund Nos. 82250, 82251 and 82252, Lot 11,
Block 1, Shores of Marshan. Council Member Neal seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 94 - 25
Abating the 1994 Installment and all Future Installments for
Special Assessment Fund No. 82233, Lot 20, Block 1, Black Duck
Estates, Second Addition. Council Member Elliott seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Council Member Elliott moved to adopt Resolution No. 94 - 26
Abating the 1994 Installment and all Future Installments for
Special Assessment Fund No's 82232 and 82233, Parcels A and B,
Black Duck Estates, Second Addition. Council Member Bergeson
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Resolution No's 94 - 24, 94 - 25 and 94 - 26 can be found at the
end of these minutes.
CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 94 - 28, CITY UNITY DAY, RESTORE
SHORTFALL IN LGA, RANDY SCHUMACHER
Mr. Schumacher explained that the League of Minnesota Cities is
requesting support for various legislative issues. The most
important to Lino Lakes is restoring the shortfall in the Local
Government Trust Fund so there will be no cuts in LGA for 1994.
They would like to have a representative from the City at their
rally on April 21, 1994 near the State Capitol in St. Paul.
PAGE 10
1
1
