(a) Public Waters, General Development. Those waters whose shores are generally <br />characterized by medium density residential development with or without limited service- <br />oriented commercial development. <br />(b) Public Waters, Natural Environment. Generally small, often shallow lakes with <br />limited capacities for assimilating the impacts of development and recreational use. They often <br />have adjacent lands with substantial constraints for development such as high water tables, <br />exposed bedrock, and unsuitable soils. These lakes, particularly in rural areas, usually do not <br />have much existing development or recreational use. <br />(c) Public Waters, Recreational Development. Generally medium sized lakes of <br />varying depths and shapes with a variety of landform, soil and ground water situations on the <br />lands around them. They often are characterized by moderate levels of recreational use and <br />existing development. Development consists mainly of seasonal and year round residences and <br />recreational -oriented commercial uses. Many of these lakes have capacities for accommodating <br />additional development and use. <br />(d) Public Waters, Tributary Rivers. Segments consisting of watercourses mapped <br />in the Protected Waters Inventory that have not been assigned one of the river classes. These <br />segments have a wide variety of existing land and recreational use characteristics. The segments <br />have considerable potential for additional development and recreational use, particularly those <br />located near roads and cities. <br />PUBLICATION. Notice placed in the official City newspaper stating time, location and <br />date of meeting and description of the topic. <br />QUADRAMINIUM. A single structure which contains four (4) separately owned dwelling <br />units, all of which have individually separate entrances from the exterior of the structure. <br />QUARTER -QUARTER SECTION. The northeast, northwest, southwest or southeast <br />quarter of a quarter section delineated by the United States Government system of land survey <br />and which is exactly or nearly forty (40) acres in size. <br />RECREATION AREA. An outdoor area which may include water bodies and incidental <br />buildings thereto used or intended for active or passive recreation, including, but not limited to, <br />parks, playground, hunting preserves, polo grounds, nature trails, bridle paths, beaches, <br />campsites, ski and snowmobile trails, and canoe routes, provided that parcels on which there are <br />located stadiums, arenas, bowling alleys, swimming pools, and other recreational activities <br />conducted primarily in structures are not recreation areas. <br />RECREATIONAL VEHICLE. A vehicle designed and used for recreational purposes and <br />enjoyment including, but not limited to, snowmobiles, motorized all terrain vehicles, boats, race <br />cars, travel trailers, truck campers, camping trailers, and self-propelled motor homes. <br />1-30 <br />
