The size, type and depths of the
existing utilities are adequate to serve the two (2) properties. A third property that, at the
moment, is not interested in connecting to the utilities can also be served by the proposed
improvements. Utility connections will be placed at the property line for this property.
Mr. Ahrens said that he has studied the proposed improvements and has determined that
the improvements are feasible and should be constructed as shown on a map included
with the City Council packets.
The estimate for the proposed improvements is $38,380.00. Funding is proposed to be
through the collection of assessments levied against the benefiting property owners.
The property owners have signed a waiver of public hearing and appeal of assessment. A
copy of the waiver was also enclosed in the City Council packets. Therefore, no public
hearing is required and the City Council can approve theplans and specifications at the
same time as receiving the feasibility report. In addition, the property owners have
waived 50 of the 60 day waiting period to order the project.
Mr. Ahrens recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 95 - 150 Receiving
Report and Approving Plans and Specifications for the Sunset Road Utility Extension
Project.
Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 95 - 150.
