She also recommended <br />that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 94 - 86. <br />No one from the audience spoke on this matter. <br />Council Member Bergeson moved to close the public hearing at 7:13 <br />P.M. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 94 - 86. <br />Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. Resolution No. 94 - 86 can be found at the end of <br />these minutes. <br />CONSIDERATION OF HIRING CAROL AKERVIK AS RECEPTIONIST, DAN TESCH <br />Mr. Tesch explained that the City has gone through an extensive <br />review process in recommending Ms. Carol Akervik for the position <br />of receptionist. More than 100 applications were received for <br />the position and three (3) interview sessions with the top 15 <br />candidates were held. An extensive background and reference <br />check was make on these candidates. <br />This position was opened due to the promotion of the current <br />receptionist to Engineering and Administration Secretary, a <br />position established in the 1994 Budget. The current <br />receptionist will also be a backup for the new receptionist. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to hire Ms. Carol Akervik as <br />receptionist. Council Member Bergeson seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF DON VOLK, DAN TESCH <br />Mr. Tesch explained that Mr. Volk has submitted his letter of <br />resignation. He said it is with deep regret that he recommends <br />acceptance of the resignation. Mr. Volk has been an employee of <br />the City for more than 21 years. Mr. Tesch stated that Mr. Volk <br />has an opportunity in the City of Lakeville and wished him the <br />best of luck. <br />Mayor Reinert said that he has known Mr. Volk all the years he <br />has lived in the City. He felt the Mr. Volk has served the <br />community well and is well respected by the community. He will <br />be missed by the community, the staff and Council who have worked <br />PAGE 8 <br />
