CITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 22, 1996 <br />DATE <br />TIME STARTED <br />TIME ENDED <br />MEMBERS PRESENT <br />MEMBERS ABSENT <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />: July 22, 1996 <br />. 6:30 P.M. <br />. 8:35 P.M. <br />: Bergeson, Kuether, Neal, Landers <br />: Lyden <br />Staff members present: City Attorney, Bill Hawkins; City Engineer, David Ahrens; <br />Community Development Director, Brian Wessel; Chief of Police, David Pecchia; <br />Building Official, Peter Kluegel; Planning Coordinator, Mary Kay Wyland, City <br />Administrator, Randy Schumacher and Clerk -Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. <br />SETTING THE AGENDA <br />Council Member Neal asked that an item titled, "St. Joseph Catholic Church Pedestrian <br />Trail" be added to New Business. <br />Council Member Kuether ask for an explanation of Consent Agenda Item No. B (1). Mr. <br />Schumacher explained that the $700.00 expenditure is a fee based upon a nonmember <br />rate for the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in the Financial Reporting <br />Program. The Finance Department is budgeting $140.00 to pay the membership fee for <br />1997. <br />Mr. Schumacher noted that staff is removing the disbursement for the Reiling easement <br />settlement. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to approve the consent agenda as amended. Council <br />Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />OPEN MIKE <br />No one appeared under open mike. <br />SEMI-ANNUAL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT, CHIEF PECCHIA <br />At the July 17, 1996 Council work session, Chief Pecchia presented the semi-annual <br />Police Department Report in detail. Chief Pecchia presented highlights from that report. <br />Some of the highlights are: 1) a summary of cases the Department was involved in <br />during the first half of 1996; 2) various training programs; 3) certification of newly hired <br />PAGE 1 <br />
