• <br />• <br />• <br />COUNCIL MINUTES SEPTEMBER 9,1996 <br />Consideration of Block Party - Ms. Anderson explained that she received a telephone request <br />for a block party on September 21, 1996. In light of the fact that this event is scheduled to take <br />place prior to the next regularly -scheduled Council meeting, Ms. Anderson is requesting <br />consideration of the request at this time. She added that the location of the proposed block party <br />is the dead end of Oakwood Lane, and only one resident did not sign the application. <br />Council Member Neal moved that the Oakwood Lane block party be approved, subject to <br />approval by the Police Department and Public Works Department. Council Member Kuether <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Update, Meeting Mayor, Montain, Don Dunn - Mayor Landers explained that the purpose of <br />this meeting is to review the City Charter with respect to public improvement provisions. <br />Public Safety Citizens Academy - Mr. Schumacher announced that the Academy has been <br />scheduled for October 26, November 3, 10, 17 and 24, 1996, being five consecutive Thursdays, <br />at the Centennial Fire Station. Interested parties should contact Chief Pecchia at the Police <br />Department. <br />Christmas Donations - Council Member Neal announced that preparations have begun for the <br />annual Christmas donations of food, toys, etc. by Neal, Mile Bennett, Sergeant Bill Hammes, and <br />another Police sergeant. <br />ADJOURN <br />Council Member Neal moved to adjourn at 10:03 P.M. Council Member Lyden seconded the <br />motion.
