COUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 22, 1997 <br />Consideration of a Letter of Support for a Rice Creek Watershed District <br />Representative - The City Administrator will write this letter and bring it to the October <br />27th Council meeting for their review. <br />Discussion of Insurance Benefits for Council Members - Council directed staff to <br />prepare a procedure for allowing Council Members to participate in the City's insurance <br />plan. Staff noted that the insurance plan would have to be amended and the participant <br />contribution should be determined. <br />Some plan features discussed by Council were: <br />- Council participant pay 1/2 of family coverage <br />- For cash option, Council will be considered with non-union employees who work 20 <br />hours per week <br />Staff was directed to prepare an outline of what all City employees contribute to their <br />insurance coverage. <br />It was noted that if this is considered additional Council compe e o y Code <br />would have to be amended and the coverage would not be • after the <br />next municipal election. There has been some progress made to repair the buildings. <br />Mr. Tom Jackson, uilding Inspector will update the Council on Monday evening. <br />Friends of the Park Transfer and Indemnification Agreement - This group is asking <br />that the matter be added to the October 27th agenda. <br />I-35W/LAKE DRIVE INTERCHANGE, TAGG ASSESSMENT, DAVID AHRENS <br />Staff explained that Joel Tagg is asking for a break on his proposed assessments. He is <br />not willing to develop his property in stages and wants to sell it all to a developer. The <br />developer would assume the assessment. <br />Staff presented a map showing how the property could be developed in stages. There are <br />several planning issues with this development that would have to be addressed by the <br />consulting planner. <br />PAGE 4 <br />
