• <br />• <br />COUNCIL MINUTES NOVEMBER 10, 1997 <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 97 - 164 Determining the Necessity for and Authorizing <br />the Acquisition of Certain Property by Proceedings in Eminent Domain, Lake Drive Trunk <br />Utilities - Mr. Ahrens explained that the City is currently planning the construction of streets and <br />utilities for the Lake Drive Trunk Utility Project and Apollo Drive Extension Project. The <br />acquisition of right-of-way is necessary for the proposed improvements. With the adoption of <br />Resolution No. 97 - 164, the City is certain to have the right-of-way acquired in a timely manner <br />so as not to delay the improvement projects. <br />Council Member Bergeson asked about a recommendation for relocation costs. Mr. Hawkins <br />stated that a recommendation would be developed as to what each property is entitled to, which <br />would be agreed upon prior to completion of this action. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 97 - 164, as presented. Council <br />Member Bergeson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 97 - 164 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTMENT TO THE 800 MEGAHERTZ COMMITTEE, <br />RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />Mr. Schumacher reviewed correspondence from Dan Earhart, Anoka County Board Chairman, <br />stating that the 800 Megahertz system is planned for implementation by the County to deal with <br />increased radio traffic. A joint powers board will be established including representatives from <br />local government, law enforcement, public works, and the fire department. Council is being <br />asked to appoint both an elected official and a member of the City's Staff to this committee. <br />Mayor Landers suggested that appointment of the elected official should wait until the new <br />Council takes office. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to approve appointment of Fire Chief Milo Bennett to represent <br />Staff on the Megahertz Committee, delaying appointment of an elected official until such time as <br />the newly -elected Council takes office. Council Member Lyden seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS - None. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Consideration of Renewal of Lawful Gambling License, Circle -Lex VFW Post No. 6583, <br />Ladies Auxiliary - Ms. Anderson explained that the VFW Ladies Auxiliary has had a gambling <br />license since the implementation of the Lino Lakes Gambling Ordinance in 1988. This <br />organization is requesting that its gambling license, due to expire March 31, 1998, be renewed at <br />this time. <br />
