• <br />• <br />• <br />COUNCIL MINUTES DECEMBER 8, 1997 <br />Consideration of Minutes, December 16, 1996 (Council Member Kuether was absent) <br />Council Member Neal moved to approve the December 16, 1996 Council Minutes, as presented. <br />Council Member Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Appointment to Friends of the Park - Mayor Landers stated that he was in receipt of <br />correspondence from the current president of Friends of the Park requesting appointment of <br />Sharon Schmidt to that body. Pursuant to the by-laws of Friends of the Park, Mayor Landers <br />appointed Sharon Schmidt to Friends of the Park to replace Martha Walmsley. <br />Campaign Contributions - Council Member Neal requested that all election reports be <br />presented to the County Attorney for investigation. <br />Council Member Bergeson suggested that the City Clerk be asked to review all reports and, <br />following clarification regarding any questions, unresolved issues be presented for investigation. <br />Council Member Lyden moved that this matter be tabled until the next Council work session. <br />Motion failed due to lack of a second. <br />Council Member Neal moved that Council direct the City Clerk to review the election reports <br />and present any discrepancies to the County Attorney for investigation. Council Member <br />Bergeson seconded the motion. <br />Council Member Bergeson suggested that any improprieties should be addressed; however, at the <br />onset, possible errors should be pointed out to the author of the original report in an effort to <br />obtain a satisfactory explanation prior to a formal investigation by an outside party. <br />Motion carried, with Council Member Lyden voting no. <br />ADJOURN <br />Council Member Neal moved to adjourn at 9:20 p.m. Council Member Bergeson seconded the <br />motion.
