• <br />• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 21, 1997 <br />Council Member Lyden's Response to Reprimand - Council Member Lyden has <br />prepared a written response to the Council reprimand. He explained that he was going to <br />read the response at the May 27th meeting but decided to read it at this time. <br />Council Member Lyden read his response and offered the Council an opportunity to <br />apologize. Mayor Landers said that he would not apologize. <br />Council Member Lyden requested a closed door meeting to talk about legitimate letters of <br />reprimand. Mayor Landers said that he did not know of any law that would allow the <br />Council to meet in closed session for this reason. <br />No action was taken on this matter. <br />REGULAR AGENDA <br />Agenda Item No. 3 - PUBLIC HEARING, Vacation of Jon Avenue from Lilac Street <br />north to Thomas Street, Thomas Street from Jon Avenue westerly to aurie <br />Avenue, Industrial Boulevard from Lilac Street south, Apollo B ark, Mary <br />Kay Wyland <br />Ms. Wyland explained these streets have never been s to <br />those areas do not include their construction. If Council approves both the Pheasant Hills Preserve, 8th <br />Addition and the Miller's South Glen subdivision, there will still be a balance left in the <br />1996 allotment. Council Member Lyden expressed concern about this item. <br />Consideration of Rezone and Minor Subdivision, Gethsemane United Methodist <br />Church, Al Brixius and Mary Kay Wyland Council Member Kuether expressed <br />concern about this item because Mr. Hanson, owner of the Sea Plane Base was told that <br />the Council would not consider his subdivision proposal until the Comprehensive Plan <br />was completed. Staff explained that the Comprehensive Plan for his district is now <br />complete and Mr. Hanson's request will before Council in June. <br />Staff noted that the Comprehensive Plan Task Force will hold their two (2) final meetings <br />on July 17th and July 24th. After these two (2) meetings, staff will assemble all citizen <br />input and bring the matter back to the Council. If the Council does not approve these <br />changes, staff will hold additional neighborhood meetings. <br />PAGE 5 <br />
