PROCLAMATION <br />NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 1997 <br />WHEREAS, the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) is sponsoring a <br />unique, nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program on August 5, <br />1997 called "National Night Out", and <br />WHEREAS, the "14th Annual National Night Out" provides a unique <br />opportunity for Lino Lakes to join forces with thousands of other communities <br />across the country in promoting cooperative, public safety -community crime and <br />drug prevention and efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes City Council plays a vital role in assisting the Lino <br />Lakes Police Department through joint crime, drug and violence prevention <br />efforts in Lino Lakes and is supporting "National Night Out 1997" locally; and <br />WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of Lino Lakes be aware of the <br />410 importance of crime prevention programs and impact that their participation can <br />have on reducing crime, drugs and violence in Lino Lakes; and <br />WHEREAS, public safety -community partnerships and neighborhood safety and <br />awareness and cooperation are important themes of the "National Night Out" <br />program; <br />• <br />NOW, THEREFORE WE, Lino Lakes Mayor and City Council Members, do <br />hereby call upon all citizens of Lino Lakes to join the Lino Lakes Police <br />Department and the National Association of Town Watch in supporting "14th <br />Annual National Night Out" on August 5, 1997. <br />FURTHER, LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT, WE, Lino Lakes Mayor and City <br />Council Members, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 5, 1997 as <br />"NATIONAL NIGHT OUT" in Lino Lakes. <br />Clem/Trea�urer <br />M - or <br />
