• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 7,1998 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />DATE : January 7, 1998 <br />TIME STARTED : 5:08 p.m. <br />TIME ENDED : 7:30 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT : Bergeson, Dahl, Lyden, Neal, Mayor Sullivan <br />MEMBERS ABSENT : None <br />Staff members present: City Engineer, David Ahrens; City Administrator, Randy <br />Schumacher; Parks and Recreation Director, Rick DeGardner; Assistant to he City <br />Administrator, Dan Tesch; Community Development Director, Brian ess uilding <br />Official, Pete Kluegel; Fire Chief, Milo Bennett; Police Chief, David" <br />Accountant, Paula Schloer and Clerk -Treasurer, Marilyn An o <br />INTRODUCTORY REMARKS <br />Mayor Sullivan welcomed staff and audience members andexplained that she is looking <br />forward to a productive two (2) years. She noted that there would be few changes but she <br />would be implementing some customerWservices.issues. A letter is being drafted to the <br />City Administrator on this subject <br />Mayor Sullivan explained that would like to implement an "intervener process" and <br />explained what this pro e s would entail. She felt this process would allow the citizens <br />to be heard on issue where them' input was not gained previously. Mayor Sullivan said <br />that she would be brining more details on this matter before the end of the first quarter <br />of the year. <br />Mayor Sullivan indicated that regular Council meetings may be run a little differently <br />than in the past. She passed out a copy of guidelines -that the City of Shoreview uses at <br />their meetings. Mayor Sullivan reaffirmed that legal consul would be present at all <br />Council meetings. She indicated that how staff relates to Council will be outlined more <br />clearly and asked the Council to review Section 202 of the City Code. <br />CIVIC CAMPUS PROJECT UPDATE, BRIAN WESSEL <br />The City Council approved a schematic design of the civic campus in December, 1997. A <br />schedule for the construction is being finalized and will be presented to the Council at the <br />January 21, 1998 work session. Included with the schedule will be a complete package of <br />the project from start to finish. <br />PAGE 1 <br />
