COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 7,1998 <br />- Council Member Lyden, Environmental Affairs <br />Committee <br />Council discussed the process of annual appointments to the boards and commissions. <br />Mayor Sullivan suggested that a rating process be initiated. She also asked the Council to <br />be open about who they wish to appoint. She asked that persons appointed not only have <br />experience but have the willingness to serve. <br />Mayor Sullivan asked that the work session meeting time be changed to 5:30 p.m. She <br />also asked that the entire packets be available at the work session. <br />It was noted that the Circle -Lex Police Department and the Mayor of Centerville have <br />asked that all four (4) Mayors of the Quad Cities meet later this week to discuss options <br />for police protections. <br />Council Member Dahl noted that Ms. Rosemary Storberg call city ha <br />meeting tape from the December 8th Council meeting. She was tol <br />available at the time she wanted it. When she again called city ha <br />Mr. Schumacher will follow-up on this matter. <br />REGULAR AGENDA <br />Item #4 <br />Tested the <br />e was not <br />was missing. <br />Community Develolinent Block Funds, Ms. Schloer presented a packet <br />which included funding requests from all the agencies who have <br />applied. These agencies will be appear before the City Council and give <br />a brief outrne of their activities and the reason for their requests. Mayor <br />Slhv' requested that a time limit be placed on each presentation. <br />All other it on the Benda for January 12, 1998 were briefly reviewed. <br />Mayor Sullivan requested a public forum be held on what has happened to the Comp <br />Plan. The form can be held on a Saturday or a week day evening.
