COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 7,1998 - Council Member Lyden, Environmental Affairs Committee Council discussed the process of annual appointments to the boards and commissions. Mayor Sullivan suggested that a rating process be initiated. She also asked the Council to be open about who they wish to appoint. She asked that persons appointed not only have experience but have the willingness to serve. Mayor Sullivan asked that the work session meeting time be changed to 5:30 p.m. She also asked that the entire packets be available at the work session. It was noted that the Circle -Lex Police Department and the Mayor of Centerville have asked that all four (4) Mayors of the Quad Cities meet later this week to discuss options for police protections. Council Member Dahl noted that Ms. Rosemary Storberg call city ha meeting tape from the December 8th Council meeting. She was tol available at the time she wanted it. When she again called city ha Mr. Schumacher will follow-up on this matter. REGULAR AGENDA Item #4 Tested the e was not was missing. Community Develolinent Block Funds, Ms. Schloer presented a packet which included funding requests from all the agencies who have applied. These agencies will be appear before the City Council and give a brief outrne of their activities and the reason for their requests. Mayor Slhv' requested that a time limit be placed on each presentation. All other it on the Benda for January 12, 1998 were briefly reviewed. Mayor Sullivan requested a public forum be held on what has happened to the Comp Plan. The form can be held on a Saturday or a week day evening. The citizens group will help with the presentation.
