• <br />MINUTES MAY 17, 1998 <br />LINO LAKES EMERGENCY COUNCIL MEETING <br />SUNDAY, <br />May 17, 1998 <br />9:00 a.m. <br />Council Members Present: Mayor Sullivan, Council Members <br />Bergeson, Dahl, Neal <br />Council Members Absent: Lyden <br />Staff Members Present: <br />Police Chief/Interim City Administrator, <br />Dave Pecchia; City Engineer, Dave <br />Ahrens, Community Development Director, <br />Brian Wessel; Finance Director, Mary <br />Vaske; Chief, Milo Bennett; Parks and <br />Recreation Director, Rick DeGardner; <br />City Forester, Marty Asleson; Street <br />Superintendent, Tom DeWolfe; Building <br />Official, Pete Kluegel; Building <br />Inspector, Tom Jackson; Salvation Army <br />Representative, Bill Fiest, Red Cross <br />Representative, Dan Pietso, Sgt. Bill <br />Hammes and Sgt. Kent Strege; Police <br />Office Manager, Renee Kaulfuss. <br />The purpose of the meeting was to summarize the events that <br />evolved during the past 24 hours as it relates to the <br />tornado/storm cleanup and request additional funding. <br />SUMMARY OF EVENTS: <br />Department Heads in attendance provided an update as it relates <br />to their various departments. Bill Hammes noted there was one <br />incident overnight where a vehicle was stopped and subsequently <br />one curfew violation citation was issued. Bill stated residents <br />have expressed lots of praise to all City staff for the great job <br />they are doing. Elm Street is open, however, continue to watch <br />for trucks hauling and leaning trees. <br />Pete Kluegel, Building Official stated both Tom Jackson and <br />himself are handing out cards to residents, answering questions <br />and that they stabilized one building. Dave Pecchia noted that <br />City staff is not allowed to partake in stabilizing homes due to <br />potential liability issues. Pete noted that a Hud house on Red <br />Clover needed to be yellowed taped by police. Sgt. Hammes noted <br />that it had already been yellowed taped. There is information on <br />a paper in the basement of this home with a contact person who is <br />responsible for this home. <br />-1- <br />
