• • SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING JULY 30, 1998 SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES DATE July 30, 1998 TIME STARTED 6:30 p.m. TIME ENDED 7:20 p.m. MEMBER PRESENT Council Members Bergeson, Dahl, Lyden and Mayor Sullivan Staff members present: Interim City Administrator, Dave Pecchia and Clerk -Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. The purpose of the meeting was to update the City Council regarding the offer of the City Administrator position to Nick Dragisch. The City offered the City Administrator position to Nick Dragseh NIr Dragsch originally accepted the position and then later called from Spokane . `Washington and left a voice message stating that he was accepting the City Adnunistrator position in Spokane, Washington. Over the course of this matter, Mr. Dragisch has changed his mind four (4) times and now, via a telephone voice message, has asked to be considered for the position again. Council discussed the reasons why they should or should not hire Mr. Dragisch. The Council also discussed as e to continue as Interim Administrator until personal contact is made with Drags . Dave will call Harry Bruhl at PDI and ask him to make personal contact Mr. Dragisch to determine if there really are some unusually circumstances that allow` Mr. Dragisch to accept this position. A final decision regarding i I)ragis h will be made at the meeting on Monday evening. Dave explained that all department heads know that there will be substantial organizational "changes made by Council next Monday evening. Staff is in the middle of preparing the 1999 Budget so it is important that the City Administrator position be finalized. In the event that Mr. Dragisch does not accept the offer as City Administrator, Dave was asked to continue as Interim City Administrator for the next six (6) months and to prepare a list of his concerns and needs. There was also discussion regarding what obligation PDI has to the City in filling the City Administrator position. Dave will discuss this with Mr. Bruhl. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m. • These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at a regular Council meeting held on May 10, 1999. PAGE 1
