COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 8,1999 <br />Mayor Sullivan reminded those present of the guidelines for audience participation in City <br />Council meetings, emphasizing the need for respectful dialog. <br />OPEN MIKE <br />No one appeared for open mike. <br />Mayor Sullivan stated the City met with the County regarding changes to Main Street. The <br />County indicated the overlay and striping on Birch Street will occur in 2000. <br />Mayor Sullivan stated the City has received the Environmental Overly reling to the Town <br />Center. The Town Center does have unique environmental aspects so the plan will be adjusted to <br />preserve the area more effectively. She noted the City may receive more mo than anticipated <br />regarding the 35W alignment. <br />Recognition of Eagle Scout Project, Mayor Sullivan - Mayor <br />Perzichilli put up a sign and planted new landscapin <br />project. <br />Evan stated Mr. Marco <br />Hall Park for his Eagle Scout <br />Mr. Perzichilli came forward and stated the h st part of the project was picking the project <br />itself. He indicated that he worked with Mr De' ardn to pick the project. <br />Mayor Sullivan presented Mr. Perzi <br />hard work and enthusiasm. <br />que for his efforts. She thanked him for his <br />ADMINISTRATION DE i NT REPORT, LINDA WAITE SMITH <br />Consideration of Applicationfrom St. Joseph Catholic Church for an Exemption from <br />Lawful Gambling License & Beer License for Fish Fry - Ms. Waite Smith stated St. Joseph <br />Catholic Church willeo ® „ four (4) gambling occasions this year. The first gambling occasion <br />will be a Fish Fry on arch 21, 1999. The second gambling occasion will be the annual August <br />Festival. The third occasion is the Thanksgiving Bingo and the fourth, also held in November, <br />1999, is a raffle held in conjunction with the annual "Deer Feed". <br />Staff is requesting the City Council consider all four (4) requests at one time since all of the <br />gambling events are already scheduled. <br />Ms. Waite Smith noted the Church of St. Joseph is also requesting a permit to sell beer at the <br />Fish Fry in March. <br />Council Member Dahl moved to approve all four (4) requests from St. Joseph Catholic Church <br />for an exemption from lawful gambling license in 1999 and approve the application for a beer <br />2 <br />
