COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 8,1999 <br />Consideration of Resignation of Police Officer - Mr. Pecchia stated that on January 28, 1999, <br />Officer Daaron Arnold resigned from the Lino Lakes Police Department citing personal reasons. <br />Mr. Pecchia requested the City Council accept Officer Arnold's resignation and wish him well in <br />his future endeavors. <br />Council Member Bergeson moved to accept Officer Daaron Arnold's resignation, as presented. <br />Council Member Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />PUBLIC SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 99 - 05, Accepting Donation from the. League of Minnesota <br />Cities - Mr. DeGardner stated that in the fall of 1998, Mayor Sulliva:was therecipient of a $500 <br />prize donated by the League of Minnesota Cities. <br />Mr. DeGardner stated the Parks and Recreation Department is at ful for being selected to <br />rrtfon programs. <br />utilize this prize to purchase a sound system to enhance several <br />Council Member Dahl moved to adopt Resolution4.,N. <br />Bergeson seconded the motion. Council Member <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 99 06 Supoting Submittal of Cooperative Trail <br />Linkage Grant Application s I)eGartlo; -.,stated he is in the process of submitting an <br />application for the 1999 Coope , e Trail Linkage Program with the DNR. The primary <br />purpose of this program is c ,� iete trail connections between where people live (residential <br />areas) and significant public recreation facilities (parks and other trails). Priority will be given to <br />residential connections tot; and regionally significant facilities. <br />The Cooperative Tr i° Qe Grant Program is available through the State of Minnesota <br />Department of Naturesources and will fund 50% of the construction costs for accepted <br />projects up to $50,000 Should the City receive the Cooperative Trail Linkage Grant funds the <br />City will complete the proposed project by June 30, 2002. <br />Mr. DeGardner noted the estimated project cost is $89,000. <br />Council Member Lyden moved to adopt Resolution No. 99 - 06, as presented. Council Member <br />Dahl seconded the motion.
