• 15% commercial tax base
The purpose of our Comprehensive Plan is to identify the amount and location
of the land in Lino Lakes which will support these goals.
Even if approved by Met Council, the Comprehensive Plan submitted by City
Council to Met Council cannot be implemented. In order to implement a plan,
City Council must approve it by at least a 4/5 vote in order to implement and
develop ordinances to support the plan. At this time, our plan has only a 3/5 vote.
Over the last 6 months, we have held numerous meetings, and recently brought a
consultant to assist us in finding a resolution. At this time, there is only one
identified outstanding issue between us and a plan. I believe that council is
committed to resolving this the next work session.
CONCLUSION
So there it is. Is Lino Lakes a city of Intent? Our citizens have shown that
through the Vision, Survey and Comprehensive Plan that we will not accept a
predetermined fate. We have dreams and plans of our own. Council must give the
direction to get us there because
LINO LAKES IS A GREAT PLACE WITH A FUTURE - BY INTENT.
16
•
•
