Motion carried unanimously. <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER <br />Consideration of Hiring Public Works -General Maintenance Worker - Upon adoption of the agenda, this <br />item was removed. <br />Consideration of FIRST READING, Ordinance No. 16 - 99, Sale of City Property, Behm's Century <br />Farms - The City currently owns an 8.6 acre parcel of land in the Behm's Century Farm Development. With <br />over 175 new homes in the Behm's Century Farm Development, there is a desire and a need to provide a <br />neighborhood park to serve area residents. <br />Mr. Uhde and staff have met on numerous occasions to determine how this park <br />recommendation is to sell approximately 2.25 acres of parkland in exchange <br />parkland. This agreement includes clearing and grubbing, grading, fou <br />and construction of trails including engineering, four (4) inch sub- <br />daterial. Concerns that were identified <br />at the meeting have been addressed. Without any <br />significant revenue sources in the near future to develop neighborhood parks, staff is in support of this proposal. <br />Staff indicated the developer does understand that the City is selling the property without making any <br />commitment to approving any zoning changes or development proposals. The City Attorney emphasized the <br />purchase agreement does not bind the City to anything. <br />Council Member Lyden moved to approve a Purchase Agreement selling approximately 2.25 acres of parkland <br />in exchange for development of the remaining park area as outlined in Ordinance No. 16 - 99.
