•
•
•
SPECIAL COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 28, 2000
Council was provided in the Friday packets. The letter explains how the changes will
affect the residents of Lino Lakes.
Staff requested Council direction regarding sending the letter to the Metropolitan
Council.
It was the consensus of Council to direct staff to send the letter to the Metropolitan
Council. A copy of the letter will be send to residents that have inquired about the
changes.
This item will be added to the regular Council agenda Monday, February 28, 2000, 6:30
p.m.
STADIUM UPDATE, BRIAN WESSEL
Staff advised a letter has been received from Mr. Babacas indicating his intent to move
forward with the project. The letter also confirmed that his local representative is Mr.
Vincent. Staff was directed by Council to provide an overview of the impact of a
stadium within the City.
Staff added that Mr. Vincent has invited City staff to a meeting with architect on
Thursday, March 2, 2000.
Council Member Carlson requested a copy of the City process that the applicant will
have to go through to move forward with the process.
Staff advised they would continue to work on a summary regarding the impact on Lino
Lakes.
Mayor Bergeson noted this issue will be discussed at the joint meeting with the City of
Centerville.
MAJESTIC PINES CHURCH REVISED PLAN, JEFF SMYSER
Ms. Cindy Sherman, NAC, reviewed the revised plans that have been submitted for the
Majestic Pines Church.
Ms. Sherman advised the site plan has been modified to address concerns that were
previously raised. Increasing the setback from Centerville Road for the building and
parking allows more landscaping and a significant berm to provide some screening. The
exterior finish of the building proposal includes an upgrade to a brick face.
Parking areas and drive aisles have been reduced which eliminates some pavement and
provides more green space on the site.
