SPECIAL COUNCIL WORK SESSION MARCH 21, 2000 Council Member Reinert inquired about the 15% high-density housing goals. Staff advised the 15% refers to the Livable Communities Goal. That percent is based on the total number of housing units within the City. Council Member Dahl inquired about the number of approved plats that are included in the 402 acres of residential MUSA. Staff advised they can try to calculate that number if the Council thinks it's of use, but staff does not have that data now. It would require some time to determine a reliable number. Mr. Bob Bening, resident of Lino Lakes, asked if there is a control mechanism in the Plan to prevent "super growth" after a year of low growth. Mayor Bergeson advised the goal is to maintain an average of 147 new homes per year. If that figure goes above or below, the City will work toward getting back to the original goal. Council Member O'Donnell stated he is unsure if all Council Members agree with the vision of the Plan. Once the vision is agreed on, the details on ho ere can be worked out.
