COUNCIL MINUTES MARCH 27, 2000 <br />(Check No. 58447 - 58561, $223,704.09) <br />Centennial Fire District <br />OPEN MIKE <br />Approved <br />Approved <br />GFOA Award Presented to Finance Staff, Mayor Bergeson — Mayor Bergeson presented the <br />Governor's Finance Officers Association award for outstanding finance reporting and achievement to <br />City staff Ms. Lynn Francis, Ms Joyce Lund, and Ms. Paul Schloer. <br />State of the City Address, Mayor Bergeson - Mayor Bergeson presented the State of the City <br />Address. <br />A copy of Mayor Bergeson's State of the City Address can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />No one was present for open mike. <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESC <br />Community Service Job Offer (3/5 Vote Required), Dan k . S advised a panel consisting <br />of the Administration Director, members of the Police; nt a graduate of the City's Public <br />Safety Academy conducted first interviews for the • immunity Service Officer on March <br />7, 2000. Two (2) applicants were selected to co background investigation packet. <br />Chief Pecchia and the Administration : r . t ose two (2) finalists a second interview. Staff <br />noted the City has not been able tcandidates with the decision regarding the position. <br />As a result of the selection pry �� �� eco mends the Council extend a tentative offer of <br />employment to Candidate on of Community Service Officer. The CSO is a part-time <br />position. Duties inclu i omplaints, a range of office duties and general assistance to the <br />City's sworn staff. <br />Council Member O'Don 11 moved to extend a tentative offer of employment to Candidate A, based <br />upon successful completion of a physical and drug test. Council Member Carlson seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Conditional Job Offer to Receptionist (3/5 Vote Required), Dan Tesch — Staff advised the City <br />Council authorized staff to recruit and hire a secretary for the Community Development Department. <br />The City began the recruitment process, and received several qualified candidates. The <br />Administration Director and members of the Community Development Department conducted first <br />interviews. The City Administrator and Community Development Director conducted a second <br />interview. It was the consensus of all involved that Ms. Dawn Bugge, City Receptionist, be promoted <br />to this secretarial position. <br />The City is now left with a vacancy at the front desk. Per the union contract, the position is being <br />posted at City Hall. In the interest of time, the pool of applicants recently created by the department <br />2 <br />
