COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 12, 2000 Mr. Vargo noted the School District is getting two parcels that abut Lake Drive where their drive is located and is identified on the map provided to the Council. Mayor Bergeson stated he does not believe ownership makes any difference in this consideration, which is a zoning issue for a minor subdivision. Ms. Wyland clarified that the pond has been specifically designed for the school and its properties, not for surrounding properties. If surrounding properties develop, additional drainage will need to be provided. Council Member Dahl stated this was presented at the work session as being a verbal or handshake agreement. She stated she is not concerned about the costs involved but would like to be assured there is a written purchase agreement before making a decision. Mr. Powell stated he made the presentation at the Work Session and understood there was no written agreement, nor has he seen a copy of a written agreement. Mark Vargo provided copies of the purchase agreement. In response to Council Member Dahl, Mr. Vargo noted this he has a meeting scheduled with the School District ne filing. He noted the School District is already usi Ms. Waite Smith noted the School Board District and asked if the Council is ov taken by the School Board. Ms. Wyland stated the City has received all of the information needed to consider a subdivision request. Council Member Carlson moved to table consideration to the June 26, 2000 Council meeting with discussion at the next Work Session. Council Member Dahl seconded the motion. Council Member Carlson noted the information was provided to the Council just before the meeting tonight and she found the ownership of this property was not clear. She stated the Council was told there was an oral contract made four years ago but tonight it has been learned there is a written contract. She noted this process has been going on for four years so she does not think two weeks will make a big difference. 5
