COUNCIL MINUTES NOVEMBER 13, 2000 <br />Mayor Bergeson inquired about what will happen when the lots to the south develop. The City <br />Engineer advised staff is open to a mechanism so the street portion of the assessments are reimbursed <br />back to the developer. <br />The City Attorney advised there may be a legal problem with that option. He referred to the City <br />Charter noting General funds cannot be used for streets. <br />The City Engineer advised the City would be assessing the subdivision to the north and deferring <br />assessments for the lots to the south. <br />The City Attorney clarified what the developer is requested. He stated he does not believe the City <br />can go back and assess for a street that is already there.
