CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 3, 2002 <br />City Engineer Studenski advised the Holte pond is in the Weber Addition outside of the <br />existing easement. This issue has been discussed previously by the Council. The City is <br />at the point of eminent domain to obtain the additional easement. Staff has submitted the <br />necessary paperwork to the City Attorney. A time frame regarding the eminent domain <br />process will be available in a few weeks. Staff will obtain bids to finish the work on the <br />pond and storm sewer. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell stated the City wanted to negotiate with the homeowner and <br />only use eminent domain as a last resort. City Engineer Studenski stated the City is <br />currently at the point of eminent domain. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell stated the pipe will not completely solve the issue of water in <br />neighbors' basements. If the homeowner keeps filling the pond the City can then <br />eliminate the pond completely with the eminent domain pr • `;mss. <br />City Engineer Studenski advised a schedule regarding this is <br />future Council meeting. <br />e provided at a <br />YOUTH RESOURCE OFFICER FOR ELEMENTHOOLS, DAVE <br />PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia advised on March 20, 2002, th as notified it will be receiving a <br />COPS in Schools grant award for one new 1 fficer at an estimated cost of <br />$125,000.
