CITY ,COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 17, 2002 <br />approved the premature subdivision criteria (included in the General Provisions section). <br />General agreement has also been reached on the platting requirements, but the task force <br />has not voted on a completed draft of those sections. The information distributed also <br />included meeting dates and the topic that will be discussed. He noted the next meeting <br />will be on April 25, 2002. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell stated the Council is concerned about the completion of the <br />plans. He stated information needs to be provided to the Council regarding where the <br />task force is, where it is going, and what will be done if the task force is behind schedule. <br />He stated he is open to a second meeting every month to get caught up if that is necessary. <br />City Planner Smyser stated that he believes the task force will be caught up after the next <br />meeting. Many of the upcoming meetings refer to technical and legal issues. The <br />majority of the project will be completed in May, which co ies with the proposed <br />schedule. <br />Mayor Bergeson referred to the current sign ordinance ne provided copies to a <br />resident. He stated the ordinance is long and very con g. e suggested that some <br />ordinances are better off being written very simply a . p • g q to being too complicated. <br />Community Development Director Grochala stt- a the t.Lk force has been very good at <br />addressing that issue. The task force is trying 0 ha . the ordinances simply state what <br />the ordinance really means. <br />Councilmember Reinert asked how th <br />Councilmember O'Donnell state <br />e is working together. <br />works very well together. <br />Councilmember Carlson asked e any delays with the project due to the <br />Comprehensive Plan ap .m etropolitan Council. <br />Community Development ochala stated he does not see any issues with the ordinances. <br />The Metropolitan Council m have issues with the proposed land use. <br />City Planner Smyser stated the task force is trying to prepare the ordinances in a way that <br />the Comprehensive Plan will not change them. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell asked if the Council would like to received final drafts after <br />they are approved or all together as one complete package. <br />Councilmember Carlson stated she would like the approved sections as soon as the task <br />force approves them. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated if there are some sections that should be grouped together then <br />they should be distributed all at one time. <br />
