Everyone involved has been informed of the steps the <br />City is taking. <br />Councilmember Dahl moved to adopt Resolution No. 02 — 180, as presented. Councilmember <br />Carlson seconded the motion. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell asked if this item and the next item are above and beyond any other <br />expenses the City has for this problem. City Administrator Waite Smith advised this estimate and the <br />next item are above and beyond expenses the City already has incurred. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 02 — 180 can be found in the City Clerk's office. <br />Consider Resolution No. 02 —181, Authorizing Advertisement for Bids for Mold Remediation, <br />Linda Waite Smith — City Administrator Waite Smith advised the City has engaged the Institute for <br />Environmental Assessment to assist in addressing mold issues in the Civic Center Complex. IEA <br />representatives have estimated the cost of mold remediation in the City Hall and Police Station <br />sections of the complex will be between $50,000 and $70,000. The state bidding process is required <br />on expenditures of this magnitude. IEA will help write bid specifications and evaluate the bids <br />received. In the meantime, in order to proceed in a timely manner, staff is seeking City Council <br />authorization to advertise for bids as soon as the bid specifications are completed. <br />City Council approval will be required at a later date to designate the winning bid and authorize work <br />to proceed. <br />Per Resolution 02-181, staff is requesting authorization to advertise for bids for mold remediation in <br />City Hall and the Police Station. <br />Councilmember Carlson moved to adopt Resolution No. 02 — 182, as presented. Councilmember <br />Dahl seconded the motion. <br />Councilmember Carlson stated the City has spent $75,000 and are now looking at another $70,000 to <br />$95,000. She stated it sound like this is the next step but hopes the City will discover the cause of the <br />problem.
