COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 13, 2003 <br />APPROVED <br />• UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Consideration of Approval of Minutes of October 28, 2002 City Council Meeting <br />Councilmember Carlson requested a correction to Page 16, last line, to indicate: "...variance andla <br />ordinance a consideration cannot be just a matter of cost." <br />Councilmember Dahl moved to approve the October 28, 2002 City Council Meeting Minutes, as <br />amended. Councilmember Carlson seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />COMMUNITY CALENDAR JANUARY 14, 2003 THROUGH JANUARY 27, 2003: <br />Wednesday, January 15, 2003, 6:30 p.m., Special Environmental Board Meeting <br />Monday, January 20, 2003, City Hall Closed in Observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day <br />Wednesday, January 22, 2003, 5:30 p.m., Council Work Session <br />Wednesday, January 22, 2003, 6:30 p.m., Special Planning and Zoning Board Meeting <br />• Monday, January 27, 2003, 6:30 p.m., City Council Meeting <br />• <br />Councilmember Carlson stated her understanding that the Environmental Board would be reviewing <br />the Growth Management Ordinance. She noted they have stated concern with regard to <br />environmental issues related to growth. <br />City Planner Smyser explained that staff felt the rate of growth did not involve environmental issues <br />so it was not scheduled to be reviewed by the Environmental Board. <br />Community Development Director Grochala stated it was his understanding that the Planning <br />Commission would go forward with the public hearing on the Growth Management Ordinance which <br />is what occurred. <br />Councilmember Carlson requested that the Environmental Board be allowed to review the ordinance <br />at their special meeting on Wednesday, January 15, 2003. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated if that is the desire of the Council, that can be decided. He stated that it is <br />staff's opinion that there is nothing within their range of responsibilities and he is concerned that a lot <br />of comments not be returned that slows progress. <br />A majority consensus of the Council was reached to direct staff to present the Growth Management <br />Ordinance to the Environmental Board. <br />22 <br />
