The last park plan was done in 1997. Staff believes it is
time to move forward with a revised plan to implement greenways and other components
of the Comprehensive Plan.

Public Services Director DeGardner stated he believes it is time to work on the plan and
coordinate all the elements of the plan. Mr. Jeff Schoenbauer, Brauer and Associates, has
agreed to work with the City to update the park plan.

Mr. Schoenbauer stated the City should take a look at the park plan and tie all
components together. The updated plan would give the City assurance that it is going in
the right direction. One component of the plan would include funding for the parks
within the City.

Councilmember O'Donnell asked if the plan would report on the progress of the current
park plan. Mr. Schoenbauer advised all the work that has been done up to this point will
be included in the revised plan.

Public Services Director DeGardner stated there has also been some interest in reviewing
the current park ordinance and dedication fees.

Councilmember Dahl stated the park dedication fee should reflect inflation.
