•
•
•
CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 7, 2004
APPROVED
The bridge has to be inspected once a year. The cost of the bridge is approximately
$300,000 not including the piers.

Councilmember Reinert expressed concern regarding the City having to replace the
bridge at some point in the future.

City Planner Smyser advised staff has to assess the visual impacts of the bridge that is
currently being proposed for the EAW. The information on that bridge that is now in the
EAW no longer applies. The City will have to determine if another EAW should be done
to include the current bridge proposal.

Mr. Vaughan advised he would submit the additional information to staff.

City Planner Smyser advised the environmental review has to be completed. The Council
then has to make a declaration regarding the EAW. The application and plat would then
be reviewed and revised for action by the City Council.

Mayor Bergeson requested that staff outline the steps in the process and information from
the Planning and Zoning Board review of the project.

City Planner Smyser noted staff will put together the responses and comment made in
reference to the EAW.

ACQUISITION OF A MOBILE COMMAND VEHICLE FOR CENTENNIAL
FIRE DISTRICT AND LLPD, DAVE PECCHIA

Chief Pecchia distributed pictures of a command van available for purchase. Staff is
proposing the command vehicle be purchased for the Centennial Fire District and Lino
Lakes Police Department. He reviewed the details of the command vehicle noting it has
28,000 miles. The purchase price is $5,000. The Centennial Fire District would purchase
the command vehicle. He reviewed a mutual agreement that was developed for use of the
command vehicle by the Police Department. The City would be responsible for the
insurance and maintenance of the command vehicle. The command vehicle would also
be available to agencies in surrounding communities. Staff believes the cost is minimal
and would not become an item to be included in the City's budget.

Mayor Bergeson noted the Fire District recommendation is to move ahead with the
command vehicle.

This item was added to the regular Council agenda Monday, January 12, 2004, 6:30 p.m.
Chief Pecchia provided a brief update on the Public Safety Citizens Academy starting
later this week.

REGULAR AGENDA, JANUARY 12, 2004

Item 7D, Consideration of Resolution No. 04 — 01, Denying Comprehensive Plan
Amendment, Conditional Use Permit/Planned Unit Development and Development State
