COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 12, 2004 <br />APPROVED <br />1 Economic Development Assistant Divine summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends <br />ip2 the Council adopt the draft resolution and authorize Staff to submit an application for Community <br />3 Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the YMCA. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Bergeson asked about competition for these funds. Economic Development Assistant Divine <br />6 stated Lino Lakes is in a strong position since youth have been underserved in this area. <br />7 <br />8 Councilmember Carlson moved to adopt Resolution No. 04-04, Authorizing Application for <br />9 Community Development Block Grant for the YMCA. Councilmember Dahl seconded the motion. <br />10 <br />11 Motion carried unanimously. <br />12 <br />13 Resolution No. 04-04 can be found in the City Clerk's office. <br />14 <br />15 B. Consideration of Resolution No. 04-05, Approving Acceptance of Tax Forfeit Land, <br />16 Mary Alice Divine <br />17 <br />18 Economic Development Assistant Divine summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends <br />19 the Council adopt the draft resolution to accept the tax forfeit properties, which both serve as storm <br />20 water ponds. <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Dahl moved to adopt Resolution No. 04-05, Approving Acceptance of Tax Forfeit <br />23 Land. Public Hearing: Consider FIRST READING of Ordinance 01-04, Vacating Drainage <br />30 and Utility Easements, Mar Don Acres, Jeff Smyser <br />31 <br />32 City Planner Smyser summarized the Staff report, indicating. Staff recommends the Council hold the <br />33 public hearing and approve first reading of an ordinance to vacate the drainage and utility easements <br />34 along lot lines. It was noted these underlying easements are no longer necessary because the Hailey <br />35 Manor plat includes easements. <br />36 <br />37 Mayor Bergeson asked if the building pad area on Lot 1 is larger than the other building pads. City <br />38 Planner Smyser used a plat map to point out the drainage area and explained the non -easement area is <br />39 larger to accommodate an existing above -ground swimming pool. <br />40 <br />41 Mayor Bergeson opened the public hearing at 6:57 p.m. There was no one present who wished to <br />42 speak. <br />43 <br />44 Councilmember Dahl moved to close the public hearing at 6:59 p.m. Councilmember Carlson <br />45 seconded the motion. <br />46 <br />47 Motion carried unanimously. <br />• 48 <br />
