COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 9, 2004 APPROVED 45 OPEN MIKE 046 47 Mayor Bergeson stated there is one item from the City Council for open mike. He advised that on 48 Friday Mr. Dan Waldoch, a longtime resident and significant member of the Lino Lakes community 49 passed away. He indicated the funeral was today. 50 51 Councilmember Carlson indicated that Mr. Waldoch was born July 8, 1923 in Lino Lakes. He served 52 in World War II as a Navy pilot, coming back from the war and becoming a commercial pilot for 25 53 years. She indicated he raised his family in Lino Lakes also. She noted there were 400-500 people at 54 his funeral, which is a testament to how well-respected and loved he was. 55 56 FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT, AL ROLEK 57 58 There was none. 59 60 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH 61 62 A. Consider Resolution No. 04-25 Approving Wine and Beer License for Mansetti's Pizza, 63 Spirit Hills Center, Ann Blair 64 65 City Clerk Blair summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends approve of the request, 66 and noting a representative of the restaurant is available for questions. 67 68Mayor Bergeson asked when the restaurant would open. Jim Szyplinski, the owner of this Mansetti's 069 Pizza restaurant,stated Mansetti's is a family restaurant with a sit down style. They offer take out, 70 and may possibly add delivery in the future. He stressed they are family-oriented, not a bar or even a 71 sports bar. He indicated their other nine locations operate with only a beer and wine license as well. 72 73 Jim Szyplinski stated they would be opening soon. 74 75 Councilmember Reinert moved to adopt Resolution No. 04-25 approving a wine and beer license for 76 Mansetti's Pizza. Councilmember Dahl seconded the motion. 77 78 Motion carried unanimously. 79 80 Resolution No. 04-25 can be found in the City Clerk's office. 81 82 B. Consider Non -Union Salary Adjustments for 2004 83 84 Director of Administration Tesch summarized the Staff report, indicating the recommendation is to 85 approve the 2004 non-union salary increases. 86 87 Councilmember Carlson asked him to expand on the sentence 'This amount keeps us within budget.' 88 She stated she is aware that in the budget it is not separated by person, and realizes he is saying they 89 will not be going over budget, but wondered if it works out by person. 90 91 Director of Administration Tesch indicated the budget manager and former City Administrator Linda •92 Waite Smith put in money for market adjustments. 2
