COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 9, 2004 <br />APPROVED <br />45 OPEN MIKE <br />046 <br />47 Mayor Bergeson stated there is one item from the City Council for open mike. He advised that on <br />48 Friday Mr. Dan Waldoch, a longtime resident and significant member of the Lino Lakes community <br />49 passed away. He indicated the funeral was today. <br />50 <br />51 Councilmember Carlson indicated that Mr. Waldoch was born July 8, 1923 in Lino Lakes. He served <br />52 in World War II as a Navy pilot, coming back from the war and becoming a commercial pilot for 25 <br />53 years. She indicated he raised his family in Lino Lakes also. She noted there were 400-500 people at <br />54 his funeral, which is a testament to how well-respected and loved he was. <br />55 <br />56 FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT, AL ROLEK <br />57 <br />58 There was none. <br />59 <br />60 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH <br />61 <br />62 A. Consider Resolution No. 04-25 Approving Wine and Beer License for Mansetti's Pizza, <br />63 Spirit Hills Center, Ann Blair <br />64 <br />65 City Clerk Blair summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends approve of the request, <br />66 and noting a representative of the restaurant is available for questions. <br />67 <br />68Mayor Bergeson asked when the restaurant would open. Jim Szyplinski, the owner of this Mansetti's <br />069 Pizza restaurant,stated Mansetti's is a family restaurant with a sit down style. They offer take out, <br />70 and may possibly add delivery in the future. He stressed they are family-oriented, not a bar or even a <br />71 sports bar. He indicated their other nine locations operate with only a beer and wine license as well. <br />72 <br />73 Jim Szyplinski stated they would be opening soon. <br />74 <br />75 Councilmember Reinert moved to adopt Resolution No. 04-25 approving a wine and beer license for <br />76 Mansetti's Pizza. Councilmember Dahl seconded the motion. <br />77 <br />78 Motion carried unanimously. <br />79 <br />80 Resolution No. 04-25 can be found in the City Clerk's office. <br />81 <br />82 B. Consider Non -Union Salary Adjustments for 2004 <br />83 <br />84 Director of Administration Tesch summarized the Staff report, indicating the recommendation is to <br />85 approve the 2004 non-union salary increases. <br />86 <br />87 Councilmember Carlson asked him to expand on the sentence 'This amount keeps us within budget.' <br />88 She stated she is aware that in the budget it is not separated by person, and realizes he is saying they <br />89 will not be going over budget, but wondered if it works out by person. <br />90 <br />91 Director of Administration Tesch indicated the budget manager and former City Administrator Linda <br />•92 Waite Smith put in money for market adjustments. <br />2 <br />
