COUNCIL MINUTES September 13, 2004 <br />APPROVED <br />193 Police Chief Pecchia summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends approval. <br />.94 <br />195 Councilmember Reinert moved to adopt Resolution No. 04-129 authorizing execution of a Joint <br />196 Powers Agreement with Centennial School District for a Youth Resource Officer. Councilmember <br />197 Stoltz seconded the motion. <br />198 <br />199 Motion carried unanimously. <br />200 <br />201 Resolution No. 04-129 can be found in the City Clerk's office. <br />202 <br />203 B. Consideration of Resolution No. 04-128, Authorizing Execution of Agreement with the <br />204 Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Safe & Sober Project, Dave Pecchia <br />205 <br />206 Police Chief Pecchia summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends approval. <br />207 <br />208 Mayor Bergeson asked why the City has to get out of the program for a year. Police Chief Pecchia <br />209 explained that the program is set up to allow agencies to spend two years in the program, then one <br />210 year out, allowing more agencies to participate. <br />211 <br />212 Councilmember Carlson moved to adopt Resolution No. 04-128 authorizing execution of an <br />213 agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Safe & Sober Project. Consideration of Resolution No. 04-130, Accepting Donations from Area Businesses to <br />221 Fund Ongoing Expenses to Maintain the Canine Program, Dave Pecchia <br />222 <br />223 Police Chief Pecchia summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends approval. <br />224 <br />225 Britt Johnson, Saberpack, commented he is pleased to make a contribution to kick off the canine <br />226 program. He praised the presentation given by the Police Department outlining the program, stated it <br />227 made it an easy decision. He indicated he is pleased to invest in the community. <br />228 <br />229 Councilmember Dahl moved to adopt Resolution No. 04-130 accepting donations from area <br />230 businesses to fund ongoing expenses to maintain the Canine Program.
