COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 23, 2005 <br />APPROVED <br />•96 Councilmember Reinert moved to approve the FIRST READING of Ordinance 02-05, Amending <br />97 Liquor Code to allow for 2 a.m. Closing Time. Councilmember Stoltz seconded the motion. <br />98 <br />99 Motion carried. Councilmember Carlson voted yea. Councilmember Dahl voted yea. <br />100 Councilmember Reinert voted yea. Councilmember Stoltz voted yea. Mayor Bergeson voted yea. <br />101 <br />102 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAVE PECCHIA <br />103 <br />104 A. Public Safety Department Annual Report <br />105 <br />106 Police Chief Pecchia presented the Public Safety Department Annual Report. <br />107 <br />108 Councilmember Carlson asked how the 31 percent of the City budget compared to past years. <br />109 Finance Director Rolek replied it was consistent to what it had been in the past. <br />110 <br />111 The Council accepted the report. <br />112 <br />113 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER <br />114 <br />115 There was none. <br />116 <br />117 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT, MICHAEL GROCHALA <br />118 <br />40119 A. Consideration of Resolution No. 05-70, Declaring Adequacy of Petition and Ordering <br />120 Preparation of a Feasibility Study for the Lois Lane Utility Improvements, Jim <br />121 Studenski <br />122 <br />123 City Engineer Studenski summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends approval. <br />124 <br />125 Councilmember Carlson noted some of the lots to the west would need some type of a lift in order to <br />126 operate. City Engineer Studenski replied that was correct and they would evaluate what was the most <br />127 economical way to service those areas. <br />128 <br />129 Mike Flannigan, 535 Lois Lane, stated he had spoken with some neighbors and they were interested <br />130 in having the sewer coming down. He indicated the residents at 554 Lois Lane did not express any <br />131 interest in the sewer because they just put in a new mound system. He stated he had not spoken to the <br />132 residents at 511 Lois Lane or the residents at 7869. He noted the majority of the people would like to <br />133 have this done. <br />134 <br />135 Mayor Bergeson noted all residents would be notified of this prior to proceeding. <br />136 <br />137 Councilmember Carlson asked if the residents at 554 Lois Lane would be required to hook up to the <br />138 City sewer considering they just put in a mound system. City Engineer Studenski replied that was <br />139 correct, but the Charter did allow people to petition against this if they wanted. <br />140 <br />141 Councilmember Reinert moved to adopt Resolution No. 05-70, Declaring Adequacy of Petition and <br />• <br />142 Ordering Preparation of a Feasibility Study for the Lois Lane Utility Improvements.
