Authorize Solicitation of Quotes for Civic Complex Energy Conservation Improvements <br />436 <br />437 City Administrator Heitke presented the Staff report, indicating Staff recommends approval. <br />438 <br />439 Mayor Bergeson asked if there was a printed motion. City Administrator Heitke stated this item had <br />440 been added to the agenda on Friday per Councilmember request. <br />441 <br />442 Councilmember Dahl asked if this is the last item needed to fix the building or would there be more <br />443 repairs. City Administrator Heitke stated this repair should eliminate the problem. <br />444 <br />445 Councilmember Carlson asked about the roof leak. City Administrator Heitke stated he informed <br />446 Public Services Director DeGardner and he is looking into it. <br />447 <br />448 Mayor Bergeson stated the roof should be inspected every few years. <br />449 <br />450 Councilmember Carlson stated she would vote for this because the building needs to be repaired; <br />451 however, she previously voted for $150,000 of citizen's money to be spent but the City is not able to <br />452 recoup any money due to a lack of record. She added it is important the City document what is done <br />453 to the building. <br />.454 <br />455 Councilmember Reinert stated Council needs to find out how much it is going to cost. He added once <br />456 action is taken there would be a record. <br />457 <br />458 Councilmember Stoltz stated he is in support of obtaining bids. <br />459 <br />460 Councilmember Dahl moved to approve the authorization for solicitation of quotes for Civic <br />461 Complex energy conservation improvements. Councilmember Reinert seconded the motion. <br />462 <br />463 Mayor Bergeson noted in previous discussions regarding recouping money on the building problems, <br />464 the result was that it was not practical or feasible and beyond legal limits. He stated he does not think <br />465 then or now there is any recourse. <br />466 <br />467 City Administrator Heitke stated they are not authorizing to get bids, just to solicit quotes.
