COMP PLAN UPDATE KICK-OFF MARCH 7, 2007 <br />APPROVED <br />•43 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BACKGROUND OVERVIEW <br />44 <br />45 Ciara Schlichting, Bonestroo consultant to the project, presented information on demographics and <br />46 existing conditions in the city, including population forecasts, housing and job growth, parks and <br />47 natural open space and economic development. <br />48 <br />49 Tom Eggum, TKDA Engineer, reported on community water resource issues including the water <br />50 supply, sanitary sewer system considerations and surface water management. <br />51 <br />52 Frank Loetterle, SRF Consulting Group, presented the transportation overview. The city's plans for <br />53 transportation will include preservation of the current system with a plan for addressing current and <br />54 future needs. Transportation planning should also include transit, trails, aviation and access <br />55 management. <br />56 <br />57 CONCLUSION AND NEXT STEPS <br />58 <br />59 Community Development Director Grochala provided a summation that included an explanation of <br />60 the concept of intrinsic suitability and a schedule of next steps.
