CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION March 26, 2007
APPROVED
CITY OF LINO LAKES
•2 MINUTES
3
4 DATE : March 26, 2007
5 TIME STARTED : 6:00 p.m.
6 TIME ENDED : 6:25 p.m.
7 MEMBERS PRESENT : Councilmember Carlson, O'Donnell,
8 Reinert, Stoltz and Mayor Bergeson
9 MEMBERS ABSENT : None
10
11
12 Staff members present: City Administrator, Gordon Heitke; Community Development Director,
13 Mike Grochala; Chief of Police, Dave Pecchia; and City Clerk, Julie Bartell
14
15 REVIEW REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS
16
17 Item 1B, Minutes of the Council Work Session of March 5, 2007. The minutes were corrected as
18 follows:
19
20 Page 3, Line 116, delete "the board" and insert "BWSR";
21 Page 3, Line 119, correct the statement to read "Council Member Carlson is a VLAWMO
22 board member and indicated that with the concurrence of the Council she will be supporting....."
23
•24 Item 1D, Consider 2008-2010 Urban County Requalification for Participation in Department of
25 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Programs (CDBG & HOME). Administrator Heitke
26 explained his recommendation that that City continue its relationship with Anoka County as an
27 "urban county" qualifier for these HUD programs. It is advantageous to the City in that grant
28 administration is quite involved and the City can then utilize county staff for those duties. Also
29 the county has a certain entitlement and the city would qualify to compete for those funds instead
30 of competing in a much larger pool as an individual participant.
31
32 The Council clarified that the guidelines/rules associated with participation apply only if the City
33 becomes a grant participant.
34
35 Item 3A, Community Service Officer (CSO) Hiring. Police Chief Pecchia announced staff will
36 be recommending that the Council approve a conditional offer of employment to Kevin Stringer.
37
38 There were no changes to the regular Council agenda.
39
40 The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
41
42 These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the regular Council meeting held on April 9,
43 2007.
44
41,6 parmov
45
47 wJu i. , e Bartell, Cit Cler
1
John Bergeson, Mayor
