COUNCIL MINUTES March 26, 2007 <br />APPROVED <br />1 <br />• 2 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH <br />3 <br />4 CSO Hiring - Director of Administration Tesch reported that the recruitment process for a part-time <br />5 Community Service Officer (CSO) has been completed. Based on results, staff is recommending that <br />6 the Council approve a conditional offer of employment to Mr. Kevin Stringer. <br />7 <br />8 Council Member Carlson moved to approve a conditional offer of employment to Kevin Stringer. <br />9 Council Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />10 <br />11 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAVE PECCHIA <br />12 <br />13 There was no report from the Public Safety Department. <br />14 <br />15 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER <br />16 <br />17 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br />18 <br />19 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT, MICHAEL GROCHALA <br />20 <br />21 Consideration of Resolution No. 07-47, Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for the Legacy <br />22 Regional Trail Improvement Project — Community Development Director Grochala stated that the <br />ft23 bid results received for this project are before the Council. The low bid of W.B. Miller is well below <br />24 the engineer's estimate for the project; staff is recommending acceptance of the bid results and award <br />25 of the trail project contract to the low bidder. <br />26 <br />27 Council Member O'Donnell moved to approve Resolution No. 07-47 as presented. Council Member <br />28 Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />29 <br />30 Consideration of Resolution No. 07-48, Approving MnDOT Traffic Signal Agreement <br />31 regarding Lake Drive/I-35W Interchange Improvements — Community Development Director <br />32 Grochala reported installation of several traffic signals is included in the Lake Drive/I-35W <br />33 Interchange Project. The agreement before the Council spells out the responsibilities of the city, <br />34 county and state relative to operation and maintenance of the signals. <br />35 <br />36 Council Member Reinert moved to approve Resolution No. 07-48 as presented. Council Member <br />37 Carlson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />38 <br />39 Consideration of Resolution No. 07-49, Approving MnDOT Cooperative Agreement regarding <br />40 Lake Drive/I-35W Interchange Improvements — Community Development Director Grochala <br />41 reported the State is providing funding for the Lake Drive/I-35W Interchange Project. A cooperative <br />42 agreement with the State is necessary to provide for receipt of the funds and outline maintenance <br />43 responsibilities. Municipal State Aid (MSA) funds are not included in this agreement. <br />44 <br />• <br />2 <br />
