COUNCIL MINUTES June 25, 2007 <br />APPROVED <br />•1 Consider Resolution No. 07-99, Authorizing a Utility Rate Study — Finance Director Rolek noted <br />2 that a rate study is needed to review city costs related to provision of services as well as to assist with <br />3 the City Engineer's current work on water conservation planning. A study is proposed to be <br />4 conducted by Springsted, Inc. with the assistance of the City Engineer. The cost of the study would <br />5 be funded between the water and sewer funds. Results from the study would be anticipated in <br />6 October, 2007. <br />7 <br />8 Community Development Director Grochala added that a water conservation plan is required by the <br />9 Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for all cities providing water. The plan looks at <br />10 education and rate structures and is intended to reduce use of (conserve) water resources and reduce <br />11 costs as well. <br />12 <br />13 Council Member Carlson moved to approve Resolution No. 07-99, as presented. Council Member <br />14 Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously; Bergeson & Stoltz absent. <br />15 <br />16 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH <br />17 <br />18 There was no report from the Administration Department. <br />19 <br />20 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAVE PECCHIA <br />21 <br />22 Annual Renewal of Otter Lake Animal Control Contract - Public Safety Director Pecchia <br />.23 explained that the City has utilized the contractual services of Otter Lake Animal Control for eleven <br />24 years and has received good service. Staff is recommending that the contract be renewed for an <br />25 additional year (2007) with an increase in two fees as noted. <br />26 <br />27 Council Member Reinert moved to approve renewal of the Otter Lake Animal Control contract. <br />28 Council Member Carlson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously; Bergeson & Stoltz <br />29 absent. <br />30 <br />31 Acknowledgment of Support for the 2007 Senior Safety Fair — Public Safety Director Pecchia <br />32 thanked the council for the opportunity to publicly recognize members of the Lino Lakes community <br />33 for their support for the first ever Senior Safety Fair, held on May 16, 2007. It was a successful event <br />34 with over 80 seniors participating. The list of donors was read. <br />35 <br />36 Council Member Carlson moved to acknowledge those that supported the 2007 Senior Safety Fair. <br />37 Council Member Reinert seconded the motion.
