Anoka County Recruitment & Retention Resources <br />PPE Reimbursement <br />Description: Up to $1600 reimbursement for personal protective equipment purchased <br />for each recruit that is certified Firefighter II. The PPE is property of the fire department <br />that hired the recruit. <br />Purpose: Ease the financial burden of hiring new recruits and encourage departments to <br />certify their recruits to FFII. <br />Requirements: New recruits must be certified in Firefighter II. Certifications can occur <br />prior to hire date but must be current through hire date. Departments will purchase the <br />gear through a vendor of their choice. NFPA compliant items covered: bunker jacket, <br />bunker pants, hood, gloves, boots, and helmet. New recruit hire date between <br />11/19/2012 and 11/19/2016. <br />Reimbursement: (All documentation can be hard copy or electronic) <br />1. Copy of recruit's NFPA Firefighter II certificate. <br />2. Recruit Hire Date: Verified by department Chief/grant contact and is <br />between 11/19/2012 and 11/19/2016.* <br />3. Itemized receipt/invoice showing products ordered and matching Firefighter <br />name. <br />4. NFPA approved physical exam. <br />5.
