Schwartz <br />OTHERS <br />PRESENT:M.Divine <br />GENERAL/MINUTES <br />Minutes of July 13, 2006 were approved. <br />VISIONING PROCESS/COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />Ms.Divine informed members about the plans for the upcoming community visioning process <br />called Spotlight on 2030.This is the second of a three-step process, that started with the <br />community survey. Visioning will be a 3 -month process that will be facilitated by Carl Neu, who <br />led the last visioning in 1996. The core group will consist of 30-40 residents who will be selected <br />from a random sample. They will be guided by Mr. Neu and divided into small groups to focus <br />on a specific topic. Two all-community forums will be held Oct. 10 and 12. <br />A final vision document and strategic plan will be completed and presented to the council in <br />December.Once complete, the city will move into the Comprehensive Plan update, which is due <br />for completion in 2008. DSU is the consulting firm selected to do the Comp Plan. The Comp <br />Plan Task Force is expected to comprise of at least two members from each city board and <br />committee, as well as selected members from the visioning committee.EDAC members should <br />consider whether they are willing to represent the committee on the Comp Plan task force. <br />MARKETING MATERIALS <br />Ms. Divine is beginning the process of putting together marketing materials for the 35E corridor. <br />The idea is to get a focused plan that markets to brokers/businesses/developers. <br />UPDATES <br />Ms. Divine updated members on recent projects. Members will hear more about the community <br />visioning and comprehensive plan process at the August meeting. <br />Meeting adjourned.
