WS — Item # 2
WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT
Work Session Item No. 2
Date: June 1, 2015
To: City Council
From: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director
Re: Well House #6 Pump House
Background
This item was placed on the work session agenda at the direction of the City Council at
the May 26, City Council meeting to discuss the proposed exterior design plans.
Attached are the following:
1. Photos and addresses of the existing Lino Lakes Well Houses and photos of Hugo
Well House #6
2. Photos of houses near Lino Lakes Well House #6 Pump House
Based on Councilmember Kusterman's concerns with the translucent wall panels
(windows) creating a potential security issue, we have eliminated all translucent wall
panels on the back side as well as the side opposite Birch Park. With the comprehensive
security measures in place, staff does not see retaining translucent wall panels on the
front and side facing Birch Park causing any security risks. Keeping the translucent wall
panels facing the street and park will also assist the pump house to fit in with the
neighborhood aesthetics.
Stantec Consulting Services is currently designing additional exterior concepts based on
City Council comments. These renderings will be distributed at Monday's work session
and estimated cost impacts will be discussed.
Requested Council Direction
Finalize exterior design so Plans and Specifications can be completed and approved along
with authorizing advertisement for bids at the June 8 City Council meeting.
