City of Lino Lakes
Re: Tavern on Main outdoor concert
After having a meeting with Head of Public Safety, John Swenson, we came up with some strategies to
help prevent over serving. Here is a list of the key points:
*AII staff training from the MLBA on safely serving customers. The presentation is attached.
*On premise security provided by EPG Security of Minneapolis.
*Safe sober rides to and from provided by Centennial Hockey free of charge.
*A wristband procedure in affect for customers to keep underage drinking out.
*Private spotters hired to watch for any customers showing signs of obvious intoxication.
I am open to other ideas. This will be a work in progress. We will have follow up meetings after the tent
party to see how things went and where we can improve from a public safety standpoint. We are
working towards eliminating the need for hired officer's onsite for that weekend. With these strategies
we feel it will greatly decrease the need for and still provide a fun and safe environment. I greatly
appreciate the help of the chief and your consideration of this plan. I would be open to coming to a
workshop to discuss further if needed.
Sincerely,
Chad Wagner
