CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 4A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Public Safety Director John Swenson <br />MEETING DATE: May 11, 2015 <br />TOPIC: Hire Paid On -Call Firefighter <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Lino Lakes Public Safety Department is requesting council approval to hire a paid on-call <br />firefighter. <br />BACKGROUND <br />As directed by Council Resolution 14-50 staff is integrating fire operations into the Public <br />Safety Department. Staff has been engaged in a fire recruiting and hiring process for paid on- <br />call firefighter candidates as part of the integration process. <br />The hiring process has been extensive including an interview process, background <br />investigation, medical examinations, and drug screen. This process has identified candidates <br />that will continue the Public Safety Department's proud tradition of delivering high quality <br />services to the Lino Lakes Community <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Council approve the hiring of Aaron Jennissen for the position of paid <br />on-call firefighter effective May 12, 2015 <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />
