12. Commercial, industrial multi -family, public/semi-public and institutional uses <br />shall install irrigation systems to ensure survivability of landscape materials. <br />(j) Tree Preservation and Mitigation Standards: The purpose of these standards is to <br />protect valuable trees and stands of vegetation, while not interfering with landowners' reasonable <br />use and development of property. The goal is to minimize unnecessary loss of habitat, <br />biodiversity and forest resources and to replace removed trees in areas where tree cover is most <br />critical. Unless specifically excepted, tree preservation and mitigation standards apply to all plats, <br />site plans, conditional use permits, interim use permits, grading, building, and other activity that <br />requires a city permit or approval. <br />1.
