Institutional Sian: A permanent sign or bulletin board which identifies the <br />name and other characteristics of a public or private institution on the site <br />where the sign is located. <br />SECTION III. DISTRICT REGULATIONS: <br />A. "R" Rural District and "R -X" Rural Executive Residential District <br />Purpose. These districts are designed and intended to aid in guiding development <br />toward fulfillment of the Comprehensive Plan and to serve the following functions. <br />1. To preserve productive land for agricultural use. <br />7 <br />To maintain "open space" within and near to urban areas. <br />3. To help guide development of urban and rural areas along an orderly design <br />to preserve continuity and efficiency of service. <br />4. To provide a method by which the urban farm can be guided so as to control <br />urban sprawl and still conserve land in an economic status until such time as <br />the need is present for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. <br />5. To reduce the possibilities of rural - urban conflicts in establishing types <br />and levels of service, methods of financing the services and needs. To <br />maintain an acceptable per capita cost for such services as sanitary sewer, <br />water. police, fire, road maintenance, school transportation. and others as <br />necessary. <br />Rural & Rural Executive Residential Districts: In the Rural District all signs must <br />comply with the following: <br />1. Residential Identifications: Not more than two (2) square feet of nameplate. <br />2. Institutional Identifications: Churches, schools, parks, etc. allowed up to <br />thirty-two (32) square feet; not higher than eight (8) feet. <br />Ordinance 05-05, Sign Ordinance page 4 of 30 <br />- 5 1 - <br />
