04,:sivLA&c.,e0a— 9 <br />4.el- n,_,,,,M,4 4-13-/998 <br />Council Member Bergeson <br />adoption: <br />introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 47 <br />PARK NAMING POLICY <br />WHEREAS, currently the City does not have a policy for naming parks, and <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board have recommended that the City Council <br />adopt a policy for naming parks that are dedicated to the City when a new <br />plat is approved, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to implement the following policy as the Parks <br />and Recreation Board have recommended: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lino <br />Lakes, Minnesota, as follows: <br />1. A policy for naming City parks be adopted. <br />?. The criteria for naming new parks is as follows: <br />NEW PARKS <br />The Park Board will name a new park following preliminary plat approval when a <br />park area is indicated on the plat. <br />Criteria for Naming Parks: <br />1. Significant or unique characteristic of the park. <br />2. Historical features relating to the parcel. <br />3. According to name of adjacent housing development (s). <br />4. According to location or street name. <br />5. Names of a community service organization. <br />6. Names that represent quality of life in Lino Lakes. <br />
