Council Member Elliott <br />moved its adoption: <br />introduced the following ordinance and <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2-95 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4, SUBD. 29 FENCES AND <br />WALLS OF THE CITY ZONING ORDINANCE APPENDIX B1 <br />The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota <br />does ordain: <br />SECTION NO. 1. Section 4, Subd. 29 Fences and Walls, is hereby <br />deleted and replaced by the following: <br />Subd. 29. Fences and Walls. Fences and walls shall require a <br />building permit and shall be permitted in all yards subject to the <br />following: <br />(1) Prior to issuance of a building permit for any boundary <br />line fence, abutting property owners shall be notified. <br />2) Solid Walls (such as masonry construction) in excess of <br />forty-two (42) inches in height shall be prohibited. <br />(3) Fences in residential districts may be located in any yard <br />to a height of four (4) feet, except that a fence up to six <br />(6) feet in height may be erected from the front facade of the <br />principal building to the side and/or rear lot line. Wire <br />fences shall not be permitted in residential areas, with the <br />exception of chain link fences. <br />(4) Should the rear lot line of a lot be common with the side <br />lot line of an abutting lot, that portion of the rear lot line <br />equal to the required front yard of the abutting lot shall not <br />be fenced to a height of more than four (4) feet. <br />(5) Fences located eight (8) feet or more from the rear lot <br />line may be up to eight (8) feet in height, except that fences <br />for tennis courts may be up to twelve (12) feet in height with <br />(ten ) foot setback from the rear and side lot lines behind <br />the principal structure. <br />(6) Fences in Business and Industrial districts may be erected <br />on the lot line to a height of six (6) feet; to a height of <br />eight (8) feet with a security arm for barbed wire. <br />(7) That side of the fence considered to be the face (facing <br />
